Chapter Operations and service

In the fall of 2017, a group of dedicated Alcornites across the states of North Carolina and South Carolina expressed interest in formulating an Alumni Chapter. Coordinated by Densel Fleming, a letter was sent out to approximately 75 Alcornites in the states, inviting them to attend an Interest Meeting on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. During that meeting, the group decided to formalize an official interest group for the sole purpose of becoming an active Alcorn State University Alumni Chapter. Three official meetings were held from December 2017 thru February 2018 and all fifteen (15) members of the group voted to unanimously to become a chapter. History was made when The Carolinas Alumni Chapter was officially chartered on February 23, 2018 at the Mid-Winter Conference in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Today, The Carolinas Alumni Chapter of Alcorn State University has grown to approximately 24 members and continues to support causes that benefit the university.
